Archiving and Data Distribution Policy

General Archiving Policy

The Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Office ensure the secure archiving, electronic backup and long-term preservation of all published content. Atlas Journal of Social Sciences provides open access to every article and keeps full-text content permanently accessible in electronic archives without requiring additional action by authors.

For long-term preservation, the journal uses PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), LOCKSS and CLOCKSS. Content is made available for harvesting, ingest, preservation and long-term access, and preservation settings are monitored regularly.

Digital Preservation

Preservation arrangements maintain access if the journal or publisher ceases operation. The Editorial Office and publisher review the policy periodically to protect the availability, authenticity and integrity of the scholarly record.

Open Access and Licensing

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. Authors retain copyright. Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to and otherwise use full texts for lawful non-commercial purposes with proper attribution. Commercial use outside the license requires prior permission.

Self-Archiving / Author Rights

Authors may archive all versions in institutional repositories, personal websites, subject repositories and general open-access repositories.

  • Submitted version / preprint: may be shared and archived at any time without restriction.
  • Accepted manuscript / postprint: may be shared and archived immediately without an embargo.
  • Published version / Version of Record: may be shared and archived immediately without an embargo, provided the DOI, full citation and a link to the article on the journal website are included.

Every archived copy must identify the version, cite the original publication, include the DOI when available, and link to the publisher's article URL. The online version on the journal website is the authoritative Version of Record.

Permitted Locations

Authors may use institutional systems such as DSpace or AVESİS, personal websites, subject repositories, general open-access repositories and public repositories that permit scholarly self-archiving.

Open Policy Finder

The policy may be submitted to Jisc Open Policy Finder, formerly SHERPA/RoMEO, to improve international visibility and transparency.

Technical Infrastructure

DOI and ORCID

Each published article receives a DOI. ORCID iD is required for all authors and included in article metadata.

Review of the Policy

The Editorial Office and publisher review this policy periodically. Changes are announced on the journal website.
